We completed a full interlock repair on this driveway by lifting every single paver to properly address the underlying issues. Once exposed, we re-compacted the existing base to restore stability and eliminate future settling. Because this driveway has been in place for over 50 years and the base was still structurally sound, a full reconstruction was unnecessary.
After compaction, we installed a fresh screening layer to precisely re-level the surface, ensuring proper pitch and alignment. The original pavers were then reinstalled in a clean, straight herringbone pattern, restoring both function and visual symmetry.
To elevate the overall look, we added new black border pavers around the entire perimeter of the existing red brick field. This contrast sharply defines the driveway, adds character, and makes the original pavers stand out significantly more.
Once the installation was complete, the entire driveway was pressure washed and finished with new polymeric sand, locking everything in place and giving the surface a clean, refreshed appearance.
This project is a perfect example of why interlock repair is often the smarter option. When the base is still viable, reusing existing pavers delivers excellent results without the cost or waste of a full reconstruction. The work was completed in Lincoln, and the transformation speaks for itself.
